Visual research and Development for a Non-Fiction Picture Book
Milano 2026
Skin of Trees – Children's Book Editorial Design
Seen through the eyes of a tiny ant, tree bark transforms into a world of paths, cliffs and hidden habitats.
A non-fiction picture book that explores the bark of trees as maps through the journey of a little ant.

What happens when we look closely at a tree’s bark?
To an ant, cracks, grooves, and ridges become paths, mountains, and landscapes to traverse.
Skin of the Trees invites readers to shift their perspective and discover the extraordinary variety of tree bark through observation and imagination.
The project stems from a direct observation of tree bark and its visual rhythms.
A tiny ant guides the reader through environments that actually exist on the surface of trees.
Every tree has a unique structure. Variations in rhythm, density, and texture shape the visual landscape of the book.
